Extended Reach Drilling Technology
In extended reach drilling, the well is drilled vertically for a certain depth and then gradually deviated until it reaches a near-horizontal trajectory. The horizontal displacement (reach) can extend several kilometers from the drilling location, allowing multiple reservoir targets to be accessed from a single drilling site.
